Reflux

Reflux or heartburn is when stomach acids come ‘back up’ and can cause irritation or a burning sensation in your throat. It is often possible to have silent reflux where no burning sensation is felt. Reflux can affect the voice by irritating the voice box and making your vocal cords inflamed. Constant throat clearing, or feeling like there is a ‘lump stuck in your throat’ may indicate the presence of reflux. Dietary and lifestyle factors can exacerbate reflux.
